Frequently Asked Questions
1. Sometimes when I do a reading, the answer I get doesn't seem to have anything to do with the question I asked. What does this mean?
Usually when this happens, Tarot is telling you that the question you're asking is of secondary importance to the issue it is raising. It is Tarot's way of saying, "You need to focus your energies on this topic, not the one you're asking about." Say, for example, you asked about when you will meet someone new and embark on a romantic relationship. Tarot answers back with cards like The Hermit, The High Priestess, Four of Swords and the Four of Cups, all cards relating to stepping back from a situation and seeking perspective and guidance from your own intuition. Tarot could be telling you that your priority right now is to examine various aspects of your life in order to gain a deeper insight into why you make the choices you do. This kind of self-evaluation could impact the kind of person you are hoping to meet. Or maybe Tarot answers back with a bunch of Pentacles and seems to be raising issues about work/school. That could mean that you need to focus on some issues there before you will have the freedom to meet someone new.
Other times, Tarot seems to make no sense at all. This occurs when you have asked Tarot too frequently about a question, and it simply has no more answers for you at this time. Or it could mean that there are too many influences at work right now to give you a definitive answer. Put the cards away and try again later.
